OLPF FF3 is a whole-new full frame multiplayer optical low pass filter, adopts more complex and higher performance crystal process to “eliminating” aliasing/artifacts while keeping very sharp images. It only matches MAVO LF, perfectly and professionally.

The full frame optical low pass filter(OLPF) is dedicated to MAVO LF. There are two types: “light” OLPF FF1 when shipping (Standard), and more complex “heavy” OLPF FF3 with high performance (Optional).

The optical low pass filter (OLPF) is situated in front of the sensor and blocks part of high spatial resolution frequency in the image that would lead to some artifacts when captured by the digital image sensor, then the sharpness of captured images is reduced to some extent. The optical properties of this filter have been carefully fine-tuned to get balance between the image content and reduction on aliasing/artifacts when designed. “Light” OLPF is designed for sharper images while “heavy” OLPF is for deeper suppression on aliasing/artifacts.

Certainly, the OLPF is only a part of the so called low pass filter pack, containing an infrared cut-off filter (IR-cut) and the optical low pass filter. IR-cut effectively abates the pollution on image from infrared of natural light. The IR-Cut of OLPF FF1 and OLPF FF3 features same design and same top-notch process to avoid images from infrared pollution. No extra IR-Cut is required to mount in front of lens.
